1970年代に登場したLeopard(レオパール)。レオパールは「豹」という意味です。

クリスタルセブンなどの「7(セブン)」と名の付く時計よりも上位のモデルとして販売されていました。

8という数字は時計の心臓部であるテンプが1秒間に8振動、1時間に28,800振動するという振動数を表しています。

セイコー含め、70年代は8振動や10振動といったハイビートと呼ばれる機械を搭載した時計による競争が激しくなっていきます。

様々なバリエーションが存在するこのレオパール8ですが、この時計はグラデーションカラーのダイアルが非常に特徴的です。

ダイアルは中心部は薄いブルーグレーのような色、周辺部は濃いグレーという構成で、良く見ると3時/9時が濃く仕上げがされています。

ケースは曲線的な形状で、リューズは4時位置に収納された一体的なデザインをしています。

HORWEEN社のクロムエクセルレザーを使用した、ダークブラウンのベルトを合わせました。

In the 1970s, SEIKO and CITIZEN competed by producing high beat watches such as 28,800 BPH and 36,000 BPH

There are various variations of this Leopard 8, and this watch has a gradation-colored dial.
